Joseph Yakovetic and Morgan Brittany
|
We will be holding a major two-day event at the museum on May 4th and 5th, 2012. Joseph Yakovetic, an award winning set and costume designer, will be available to sell and sign his beautiful paintings inspired by the movie Gone with the Wind. Yakovetic has been dubbed the “Painter of Shadows” because there are hidden images in each of his paintings. In addition to GWTW paintings, he has captured special moments in many Disney films, including Mary Poppins, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty. In 2008 he premiered “Surrender Dorothy”, the first creation in the Wizard of Oz series as part of Warner Brothers’ Consumer Products’ The Ruby Slipper Collection and The Inspirations of Oz Fine Art Exhibit. Canvas and paper prints of his ten paintings inspired by Gone with the Wind will be available for sale but paintings and prints inspired by other films may be ordered. The GWTW paintings will be on display for viewing and purchase from 9 to 5 on Friday and Saturday. Mr. Yakovetic will be available to autograph prints from 10:00 – 11:30 AM and 1:30 – 3:00 PM on both days. The unveiling of a new, never before seen painting will occur at 10:30 AM on Friday. In addition to Yakovetic, on Saturday only, Morgan Brittany of “Dallas” fame will make a guest appearance at the museum. Ms. Brittany achieved great fame for her recurring role as Katherine Wentworth on the long-running series. The beautiful dark-haired Brittany appeared as Vivien Leigh in The Scarlett O’Hara War in 1980 and the movie Gable and Lombard in 1976. Yakovetic has prepared a special drawing of Ms. Brittany as Vivien Leigh in the role of Scarlett O’Hara. The original drawing and prints will be for sale and signing from 10:00 – 11:30 AM and again from 1:30 – 3:00 PM on Saturday only. The very generous Ms. Brittany is donating all proceeds from the sale of her picture and autograph to help the poor and hungry in Branson. She has chosen the Branson Seniors as the recipient of the charitable donations. The Gone with the Wind museum is bringing this talented artist and beautiful actress at no charge to the public. Admission to the museum will be free both days. |
